It is popular, but due to distance from JHB and PTA not that popular with most of these cities Residents

It can get very busy, especially in Summer

It is located +/- 86 km’s west of PTA, taking the N4 towards Rustenburg from the N1, just after Zambesi Off-ramp in PTA.
10. Directions
Take the N1 North towards Pietersburg past Pretoria. After passing the Zambesi Off-ramp take the next off -ramp N4 Rustenburg and go through two(2) Tollgates (currently R7-20) each. Continue with this road Until you get the Off-ramp Marikana which you then take. Turn left on top and travel down this road till it ends in a T-junction with the Old Rustenburg road. Turn Right and travel for about 1 to 1,5 km’s until you reach a 3-way stop with a raod joining from the left, turn left and travel down thia road for about 2 – 4 km’s and the entrance to the dam should be on your left. Be on the lookout for Green Plastic water tanks the entrance is just past them.
11. Entrance and other fees
Entrance fees are R10-00 per Vehicle and R15-00 per Adult, I’m not too sure of the fees for staying over and form Boats, Tents and Caravan’s.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
